Enclosure Failed,
Had the product for about 4 months. No problems until last week.
Very poor ventilation. The enclosure failed after four months. Pulled the drive out of the enclosure and put it into another empty one i had around using the same hookups and worked perfectly. There is probably some manufacturing fault with the circuitry on the connector side of things.

Died after a few months,
This is a hard drive that’s used to save backups and old files so it’s hardly used. It didn’t long before it started having problems. The drive wouldn’t spin. One time I put it in the freezer for 1/2 hour and it started working. Looks like it suffers from ventilation issues. Recently it died. It doesn’t turn on and there’s no light. Power supply is fine. I am going to take out the drive and use my own USB kit.
Next time I will check reviews first before buying a drive from a store.

Failed after 6 days,
Knew something was up when I plugged it in for the first time and booted up. PC stuck in boot cycle. Had to disconnect hard drive or power down for boot cycle to complete. Never had a chance to look and see if PC was trying to boot from this device. Next issue, tried backing up for the first time but backup software balked, saying this hard drive was formatted as FAT32. Who uses that anymore? After formatting to NTFS, backup was successful. Hard drive failed completely after six days. Just all of a sudden, couldn’t read from it, couldn’t format it to wipe what was already on there.
