Love it!,
I have MacBook Pro and i needed an Apple compatible external data storage and 6TB was just perfect for my need, And when i found out about Gtech i was very pleased to know that its a Hitachi company! I love Hitachi and i never had a bad experience with any of its products, so i bought this drive unboxed it when it arrived and found 4 sets of cables 1 mini USB, 1 eSata, 1 FireWire 400, 1 FireWire 800 the drive was little heavy but still reasonable and made from high quality aluminum that matches Apple Aluminum color exactly i connected power and connected it by FireWire 800 to my Mac and pushed the Power button wow it popped on my desktop! I choose get info and there it was 6TB nice
its really quiet no clicking sounds and very fast and it wont get hot i love it and it deserves 5 stars and the $700 i paid for it, I highly recommend it…

clicking sounds,
The drive is working fine but it’s incredibly noisy for an external drive. Oh and it’s making these awful clicking sounds. These are not just normal read/write sounds either it’s loud audible clicking noise. Perhaps it’ a defective unit? Either way I’m not happy about it.

No Problems So Far!,
I just received this drive a day ago, the only problem I had with it was formatting it! I called tech support, very professional, & talked me through the steps on how to have it reconized by my computer, which is a Windows 7. I have to say it’s very fast, lots of space for storing most of my files, mostly video. Before, I was a Fantom, Iomega, external drive guy, but after researching the net for affordable external harddrives with lot of space, I have to say I found one. The G-Tech 6TB is the way to go. Great tech support, I would certainly recommend this to a friend, or anyone looking for an external hard drive, with speed, and lots of space.
